Property resolution

Quoin resolves property identity before returning facts. Its authoritative serving entity is a Washington, D.C. property-tax account identified by SSL, which is not always a one-to-one physical parcel.

Exact identity comes first

A normalized SSL or exact address match is preferred. Exact address matches include the official Master Address Repository parcel set; multiple official parcels remain explicitly ambiguous.

Fuzzy results are suggestions

Fuzzy address lookup runs only after exact lookup fails. Its scored candidates contain identity suggestions, not collateral facts, so the caller must select the intended property before continuing.

Units and parcel sets

  • An address can map to zero, one, or many SSLs.
  • An exact residential-unit match narrows to a condominium SSL only when D.C. publishes one.
  • A batch request is limited to 50 caller-named assets and is not a bulk export.
